يونيو 2023: نظم برنامج دعم الحوار السياسي الاجتماع الشهري لفريق الدعم الاستراتيجي خلال الفترة 7-8 يونيو 2023. وتم تنظيم الاجتماع تحت عنوان: “تباطؤ المفاوضات بين الرياض وصنعاء ، الأسباب والعواقب “. كما تم تخصيص الاجتماع لمناقشة المستجدات على الساحة المحلية والإقليمية والدولية المتعلقة باليمن ، بما في ذلك المشاورات الجنوبية التي عقدت في الفترة من 4 إلى 8 مايو 2023 وانعكاساتها على عملية السلام ، وتعليق المفاوضات بين صنعاء والرياض من حيث الأسباب والآثار. وخصص اليوم الثاني من الاجتماع لورشة عمل حول اسباب تباطؤ المفاوضات بين الرياض وصنعاء وانعكاساتها على عملية السلام. كانت الأهداف والغايات الرئيسية للاجتماع هي أن يقدم أعضاء الفريق بعض الاقتراحات فيما يتعلق بالمسار السياسي بالنظر إلى آخر التطورات التي حدثت ، وعلى رأسها المشاورات الجنوبية التي عقدت في الفترة من 4 إلى 8 مايو 2023 ، وتداعياتها على عملية السلام ، وتباطؤ المفاوضات بين الرياض وصنعاء عقب انفراج أبريل / نيسان عندما جرت جولة مفاوضات في صنعاء بين صنعاء والرياض لمدة ثمانية أيام ، من حيث أسباب وعواقب توقفها حتى اليوم. بعد ذلك ، قام أعضاء الفريق بالانقسام إلى مجموعات عمل خلال اليوم الثاني من الاجتماع من أجل العمل على أسباب تباطؤ المفاوضات بين الرياض وصنعاء ، وأثر ذلك على عملية السلام ، مع دمج القضايا والفعاليات التي أثيرت خلال جلسات اليوم الأول للاجتماع. تتضمن المحصلة الرئيسية للاجتماع تصور الفريق فيما يتعلق بأسباب وتأثيرات تباطؤ المفاوضات بين الرياض وصنعاء ، وعواقب التباطؤ أو التراجع في المفاوضات بين صنعاء والرياض ، وبعض التوصيات التي لا بد من تنفيذها بالإضافة إلى وجهات نظرهم حول كيفية التغلب على التباطؤ نحو استئناف المفاوضات أو إنهاء الوضع الراهن المتمثل في اللاحرب واللاسلم
June, 2023: The Political Dialogue Support Programme (PDSP) organized the monthly meeting for the Strategic Support Group (SSG) during 7-8 June, 2023. The meeting was organized under the title: “Slowing negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a, the causes and consequences”. The meeting was also allocated for the discussion of developments at the local, regional, and international arena pertaining to Yemen, including the Southern Consultations that took place 4-8 May, 2023 and their implications for the peace process, and the suspension of Sana’a-Riyadh negotiations in terms of the reasons and impacts. The second day of the meeting was allocated to a workshop on the reasons for the slowdown in negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a, and their impact on the peace process. The main goals and objectives of the meeting were for the SSG members to present some suggestions regarding the political track considering the latest development that took place, mainly, the Southern Consultations held 4-8 May, 2023, and their consequences on the peace process, and the slowing of negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a following the breakthrough in April when a round of negotiations took place in Sana’a between Sana’a and Riyadh for eight days, in terms of the causes and consequences behind the stalling of the negotiations until today. Then, for the SSG members to break into working groups during the second day of the meeting in order to work on the reasons behind the slowdown of the negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a, and the impact of that on the peace process, while incorporating the issues and events raised during the sessions of the first day of the meeting. The main outcome of the meeting includes the perception of the SSG regarding the reasons and the impacts behind the slowing of the negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a as, the consequences of slowdown or the retreat in negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh, and some recommendations that are imperative to be carried out as well as their points of views on how to overcome the procrastinations towards the resumption of the negotiations or ending the status quo of no war no peace.
